A Bachelor of Arts (BA) is an undergraduate degree program that focuses on humanities, social sciences, and liberal arts subjects. It is one of the oldest and most traditional degree programs in the world.

The BA program provides students with a broad-based education in subjects such as literature, history, philosophy, sociology, psychology, and languages. It also focuses on developing critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills.

The program typically involves a combination of coursework, independent research projects, and internships. Students take courses across different disciplines, allowing them to explore varied areas of interest and build a strong knowledge base.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate who has passed the two-year Pre-University (PUC) examination conducted by the Pre-University Board of Education, Government of Karnataka, or any other examination considered equivalent by the University is eligible for admission to the first semester of the B.A. programme.
Students who have passed any Job Oriented Course (JOC – 10+2) / I.T.I. (10+2) are also eligible to join the first semester of B.A.
Candidates from other recognized boards (CBSE, ISC, or equivalent 10+2) are eligible, subject to recognition by the University.

Note: Admission is generally based on merit in the qualifying examination. Minimum percentage requirements (typically around 55%) and any reservation norms applicable to minority institutions will be as per University and Government guidelines for the academic year.
