World No Tobacco Day Celebrated by Faculties of Arts Humanities, Social Sciences, Languages & Law

On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, the Faculties of Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Languages & Law at KBN University organized an awareness program to educate students about the harmful physical, social, and psychological effects of tobacco consumption. The event aimed to encourage students to adopt healthy lifestyles and spread awareness about the dangers of tobacco use in society.
As part of the program, an essay writing and collage competition was conducted on the theme “The Social Effects of Tobacco” on 16- 06-2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A total of 27 students from various departments enthusiastically participated in the competitions and showcased their creativity, knowledge, and awareness regarding the negative impact of tobacco on individuals, families, and communities. Through essays and artistic collages, the participants effectively highlighted issues such as health problems, addiction, financial burden, social isolation, and the harmful influence of tobacco on youth and society.
The program concluded with an oath-taking ceremony in which students and faculty members collectively pledged to stay away from tobacco products and work towards creating a healthier and tobacco-free society. The event ended on a positive and inspiring note, leaving a strong message about the importance of health, awareness, and social responsibility among the students.
The convener was Prof. Nishat Arif Hussaini Dean Faculty of Arts Humanities, Social Science, Languages & Law. Organizing Secretaries were Dr. Athiya Sultana, Ms. Zainab, Mr. Ramesh N, Dr. Azamat D.B, Dr. Praveen Vikram Nayak, Dr. Tajuddin M.D, Dr. Abdus Samad, Dr. Deshmukh Afshan Begum.
