The May Day Labour Day Celebration 2026

The Labour Day Celebration was organized on 30th April 2026 (on the eve of May Day) by M.Com(FCM) students under the coordination of Programme Coordinator Mrs. Amtul Habeeb, Faculty of Commerce and management. The programme was systematically conducted across three faculties of the university. The inaugural session was held at the Faculty of Commerce and Management, where in non-teaching staff, attendants, and housekeeping staff were felicitated as a mark of recognition for their dedicated service. Subsequently, the programme was extended to the Faculty of Science, where similar activities, including felicitation and awareness sessions, were conducted for the supporting staff. The final session was organized at the Faculty of Arts, where non-teaching staff, attendants, and housekeeping personnel were honoured and appreciated. The programme was designed to promote awareness of labour rights, labour laws, and welfare schemes, while fostering respect for the dignity of labour within the institutional framework.
Objectives of the Program:
· To appreciate and recognize the contribution of non-teaching and support staff.
· To create awareness regarding labour rights and labour laws.
· To educate participants about government welfare schemes.
· To promote dignity of labour and inclusiveness.
· To enhance student participation in socially responsible activities.
1. Faculty of Commerce and Management
The programme commenced with Qur’an recitation by Ms. Aisha Anjum, followed by anchoring by Ms. Ishrat Sadaf. Around 25 Non teaching, attendants and housekeeping staff members were felicitated with flowers and chocolates.
The Programme Coordinator, Mrs. Amtul Habeeb, addressed the gathering and explained the overall schedule of the programme, highlighting that the event was organized by M.Com students across three faculties. She outlined the objectives and significance of conducting such an initiative. This was followed by the address of the Chief Guest, Dr. Praveen Nayak Associate Professor & Hod department of Law who emphasized the importance of dignity of labour and awareness of labour rights. Dr. Namrata Raut, Media Coordinator KBNU , spoke about the contributions of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar to safeguard the labours also appreciated the initiative, stating that such a programme was being organized for the first time at Khaja Bandanawaz University.
IN the presidential remarks the Dean of FCM Dr. Srinivas Rao delivered a speech on the significance of Labour Day and appreciated the efforts of the students and the coordinator for organizing a meaningful and impactful programme.
Students of M.com Aisha Anjum, Afifa, Sania Kousar, Ishrat Sadaf delivered speeches on labour rights and welfare schemes. An interactive session was conducted, allowing participants to share their views. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Taha.
2. Faculty of Science (Science Building) –10:00 Am to 10:30 Am:
The Labour Day programme at the Faculty of Science was organized by M.Com students under the coordination of Programme Coordinator Mrs. Amtul Habeeb. The session commenced with an address by the Programme Coordinator, who highlighted the significance of Labour Day and the objectives of the programme. Non-teaching staff, attendants, and housekeeping staff were felicitated with flowers and chocolates as a token of appreciation. The Chief Guest, Mr. Badrinath Kulkarni, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Science, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of dignity of labour. He appreciated the efforts of the M.Com students, the coordinator, and the Faculty of Commerce and Management for organizing such a meaningful initiative. Dr Namrata Raut also addressed the gathering. This was followed by student speeches Aisha Anjum, Afifa, Sania KOusar, Ishrat Sadaf on labour rights and welfare schemes. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by M.Com student Taha.
3. Faculty of Arts Humanities and Social Science
The Labour Day programme at the Faculty of Arts was organized by M.Com students under the coordination of Programme Coordinator Mrs. Amtul Habeeb. The team visited the Faculty of Arts and conducted the programme in a similar manner. The session commenced with a Qur’an recitation, followed by the felicitation of non-teaching staff, attendants, and housekeeping staff with flowers and chocolates as a token of appreciation. The Programme Coordinator, Mrs. Amtul Habib, and Media Coordinator Dr Namrata Raut addressed the gathering and explained the significance of the event. Students Aisha Anjum, Afifa, Sania KOusar, Ishrat Sadaf delivered speeches on labour laws and labour welfare schemes, creating awareness among the participants. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by M.Com student Taha.
Outcomes:
· Improved awareness of labour rights and welfare schemes.

Feedback Analysis:
Feedback from participants indicated that the programme was highly appreciated. Non-teaching and housekeeping staff expressed gratitude for the recognition. Faculty members appreciated the innovative and inclusive approach taken by the students faculty staff and dean of FCM
Impact:
The programme created a positive impact by promoting dignity of labour and inclusiveness within the institution. It strengthened the relationship between students and support staff and set a benchmark for meaningful celebrations.
