World Red Cross Day & First Aid Training 2026

Khaja Bandanawaz University (KBNU), Kalaburagi, served as the Title Sponsor for a significant Inauguration and First Aid Training Programme held on May 30, 2026. Organized by the Times of India in association with the Red Cross Society, Raichur. The event took place at the Veershaiv Lingayat Samaj, HCMSK College of Education, Raichur.


The event focused on humanitarian aid, public safety, and emergency response, featuring insights from several prominent figures:


Shree Arunasnhu Giri (IPS, SP Raichur) inaugurated the event and he emphasized that humanity should take precedence over capturing videos during accidents. He urged the public to provide immediate help during road emergencies and strictly advised students to wear helmets. He also highlighted the 112 helpline for reporting child marriage and drug supply.


ASP Mr. Kumarswamy educated the audience on the critical importance of the "Golden Hour"—the first hour after a traumatic injury—where prompt first aid is most likely to save a victim's life.


Chief Guest, Dr. Namrata Raut (Media Coordinator, KBNU) represented the title sponsor, sharing the rich history of the Khaja Education Society and detailing the diverse academic programs currently offered by Khaja Bandanawaz University. Shree Vijay Kumar Patil, Director, IRCS, Bangalore and Sanna Iresh, PSI, Traffic, Raichur were the chief guests for the inauguration event.


The practical first aid training was conducted by Dr. Anirudh Kulkarni, a National Trainer for the Indian Red Cross Society and Director of First Aid and Disaster Management in Raichur. The Training programme was chaired by Shri Sharan Bhopal Nadangouda, President, Veershaiv Lingayat Samaj, Raichur and Mr Ashok Patil Atnoor, President HCMSK College of Education, Raichur.


The collaboration between KBNU and the Red Cross Society underscores a commitment to community welfare, moving beyond traditional education to equip students and the public with life-saving skills and social awareness.
