In commemoration of World Population Day 2025, on 19th July 2025, the Department of Community Medicine conducted a vibrant community awareness drive at Azadpur Village, adopted under the Family Adoption Program.

Focusing on this year’s theme — “Empowering young people to create the families they want in a fair and hopeful world” — the program aimed to spread awareness about reproductive rights, family planning, and gender equality among rural populations.

48 MBBS students, along with 10 faculty members, visited homes, shops, and local hubs across the village in small teams carrying impactful placards and charts. With support from ASHA and Anganwadi workers, they educated over 800 residents about responsible family planning, reproductive health services, and government schemes.

The initiative not only brought health education to the grassroots but also gave students invaluable field exposure, strengthening their communication and public health engagement skills.
