World Drug Abuse Day Awareness Programme 2026

The Youth Red Cross Unit, KBN University and Khaja Bandanawaz University successfully organized a Drug Abuse Awareness Programme on 30th June 2026 at Anatomy Hall, KBN University with the objective of creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraging a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
The chief resource persons were Circle Police Officer Shri Dilip Kumar Sagar and Assistant PSI Shri Sikander, who delivered informative and motivational talks on the dangers of drug abuse, its physical, psychological, social, and legal consequences. They also emphasized the importance of making responsible choices, resisting peer pressure, and seeking help whenever required.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Gazala Shaireen, Nodal Officer, Youth Red Cross Unit, KBN University. The event was graced by Dr Guruprasad, Dean FOMS; Dr. Anup Desai, Dean, Student Welfare; Dr. Gitanjali, Assistant Dean, Faculty of Medical Sciences whose presence inspired the students to actively participate in the awareness programme.
A large number of students from KBN University enthusiastically participated in the programme. The interactive session enabled students to clarify their doubts and understand the role of youth in preventing substance abuse and promoting a drug-free society.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, resource persons, faculty members, and students for making the event a success. The Youth Red Cross Unit reaffirmed its commitment to conducting such awareness programmes for the welfare of students and society.
