The White Coat Ceremony at Khaja Bandanawaz University (KBNU) was a memorable and emotional milestone for the newly admitted MBBS Phase I students of the 2025 batch. Held on October 9, 2025, at the Anatomy Lecture Hall, Pre-Clinical Block, the event welcomed students into the medical fraternity with warmth, inspiration, and pride.

The ceremony opened with an Invocation of Divine Blessings, setting a reverent tone for the evening. Dr. Saba Nazneen Khan, Professor, Department of Biochemistry, extended a heartfelt welcome to the gathering. Dr. Siddling Chengty, Medical Superintendent, addressed the students on the profound meaning of the white coat, underscoring ethics and professionalism in patient care.

The most awaited moment arrived when the dignitaries presented the white coats to the students — a symbol of honour, duty, compassion, and lifelong learning. Dr. Guruprasad K Y, Dean, Faculty of Medical Sciences, administered the Maharshi Charak Shapath, marking the students’ official induction into the medical profession. Dr. Gazala Shaireen, Associate Professor, Department of Anatomy, introduced the Heads of various departments to the young aspirants.

Dr. Zama Moosvi, Dean Academics, inspired the students by reminding them that the white coat is not merely an attire, but a badge of trust and responsibility. Dr. Md Abdul Baseer, COE (I/c) and Director IQAC, highlighted KBNU’s multidisciplinary ecosystem designed to support their growth. Prof. Syed Ashfaq Ahmed, Honourable Pro–Vice Chancellor, congratulated the students on their achievement and encouraged them to stay committed to both the science and art of medicine.

A special highlight was the release of the Faculty of Medical Sciences Handbook by Prof. Syed Ashfaq Ahmed. Meticulously prepared under the guidance of Dr. Zama Moosvi, this handbook outlines academic regulations, NMC’s CBME guidelines, and the academic calendars for all MBBS phases for the 2025–2026 academic year.

As the students took their oath, their voices resonated with determination and hope— pledging to put patients before themselves, respect their peers, and uphold the honour of the medical profession. The event concluded with a warm Vote of Thanks by Dr. Sushma D S, Coordinator, MEU.

With nearly 480 attendees, including faculty, students, and proud parents, the ceremony was a vibrant celebration of new beginnings — marking the start of a transformative journey from dreamers to future doctors.
