Visit to Anganwadi Kendra at Kala Huda locality, Khaja Colony, Kalaburagi

A Study visit was carried out by the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, KBN University on 12.02.2026, as a part of the academic activity of the department 10 students participated in the Anganwadi visit.
The purpose of the visit was to make students understand the concept of the welfare programme carried out in the country. Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) was first initiated in 1975, by Government of India, towards reaching the referral services at grass root levels especially for women and child as the flagship programme to overcome the malnutrition and child mortality.
The main objective of this visit was to make students aware of such programs and to make them understand a welfare scheme implemented by both Central and State governments.
This visit was organised by Dr.Tajuddin Md, Asst Professor, Dept of Political Science and Mrs. Sabiha Tabbasum, Guest faculty, Dept of Political science, along with students of B.A. Semester II and Semester IV of Political Science department.
Outcome of the Visit: Students at the Anganwadi Kendra enquired about the works carried out in the Kendra from Anganwadi teacher and they also got firsthand experience on the scheme. This visit helped the students learn about the functioning of such ICDS Centre, its role and the duties carried out by such centers every day towards providing better health and nutrition facilities to the citizens, through “Anganwadi Kendra/Centre”.
