Vision Pulse one-day CME

The Department of Ophthalmology, Khaja Bandanawaz University, organized Vision Pulse, a one-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on 14 December 2025 at the Lecture Hall, 3rd Floor, Khaja Bandanawaz Nursing & Teaching General Hospital. The CME was conceptualized to update postgraduate students, senior residents, and faculty members on recent advances in the diagnosis and management of common and emerging ophthalmic conditions, while promoting evidence-based clinical practice and academic interaction.


The programme was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Dr. Guruprasad K Y, Dean FOMS; Dr. P S Shankar, Professor Emeritus and Senior CEO, FOMS; Dr. Siddaling Chengty, Medical Superintendent; and Dr. Radhika Prasad, Hospital Administrator, KBNTGH. Their presence added academic depth and institutional significance to the event.


A series of expert lectures formed the core of the CME. Dr. Elankumaran Pasupathi delivered insightful sessions on communication and documentation in healthcare, along with a video bouquet highlighting the management of iatrogenic intraoperative zonular dialysis. Dr. Pradeep Reddy addressed practical aspects of funding options while procuring ophthalmic equipment and shared key takeaways on autofocus intraocular lenses. Dr. Mahesh Babu focused on research paper writing, emphasizing recent research updates and guidelines relevant to young academicians. Dr. Shailesh provided an engaging overview of biometry, offering a deeper insight into recent advances and discussed the incorporation of premium intraocular lenses into clinical practice.


The CME witnessed the participation of 102 delegates, including faculty members, postgraduate students, and senior residents from the Department of Ophthalmology, along with participants from nearby medical institutions. The interactive sessions fostered meaningful discussions and knowledge exchange, enhancing both academic understanding and clinical perspective.


The programme concluded with acknowledgements to the speakers and organizing team. Vision Pulse stood as a valuable academic initiative, reinforcing Khaja Bandanawaz University’s commitment to continuous learning, research excellence, and quality patient care in the field of ophthalmology.
