Two Day Professional Orientation Programme on Lesson Planning Cum Internship

The Faculty of Education, KBN University, Kalaburagi organized an Orientation Programme on Lesson Planning for student-teachers.

The programme was held on14^th and 15^th, July 2026 in Hall No. 3, Forensic Building, KBN University, Kalaburagi, and Multipurpose Hall, Faculty of Education.

Day 1

The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest: Prof. Nishat Arif Hussaini, Dean Faculty of FoAHSSLL, KBN University, Kalaburagi. Prof. Srinivas Rao, Dean Faculty of Commerce and Management, KBN University, Kalaburagi was guest of honour. Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Mattoo. Dean Faculty of Education, KBN University, Kalaburagi presided over the programme. The programme was hosted by Syeda Ayesha Muskan of 4^th semester and Syeda Aisha Roohi of 2^nd semester.

The programme began with Tilawat-e-Kalam by Ms. Azra Begum and translated by Ms. Nashra Tabassum of 2nd semester. A brief introduction of the programme was given by the host Syeda Ayesha Muskan of 4th semester and Syeda Aisha Roohi of 2nd semester. As a symbol of growth prosperity and enlightenment watering of the plant was done by the dignitaries that officially open the two-day programme. Bouquets were presented as an honour and gratitude to the dignitaries by Ms. Razia Parveen, Dr. Sharanbasappa and Mr. Mahiboob C. Ms. Rafiya Sultana from 2^nd semester introduced the Chief Guest, Prof. Nishat Arif Hussaini. Dean, Faculty of FoAHSSLL, KBN University, Kalaburagi and Guest of Honour Prof. Srinivas Rao, Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management, KBN University, Kalaburagi.

Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Mattoo, Dean Faculty of Education, KBN University, Kalaburagi, warmly welcomed the dignitaries by appreciating their achievements and highlighted the importance of two-day professional orientation programme. Guest of Honour Prof. Srinivas Rao, Dean Faculty of Commerce and Management, KBN University, Kalaburagi, shared his experience of becoming a teacher as a dream, also influenced students to develop skills of modern methods of teaching learning to get acquaint with present trends and technology. Chief Guest, Prof. Nishat Arif Hussaini, Dean, Faculty of FoAHSSLL, KBN University, Kalaburagi, shared the Vision of introducing B.Ed Course. She asked the students to well equip with all the techniques and skills that will help them to become the best teachers and asked them to be absorbed in various schools being run by the Society. Dr. Kudrathunissa Sheikh presented vote of thanks to the dignitaries and the gathering. The programme was hosted by Syeda Ayesha Muskan of IV semester and Syeda Aisha Roohi of 2^nd semester.

Afternoon Session:

In the view of the Two-Day Professional Orientation Programme for teachers and students the Faculty of Education organized two Key Note Speeches in the afternoon.

Dr. Saliha Khatoon, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Education, KBN University introduced the Key Note speaker/s of the afternoon session Prof. K Abdul Gafoor, Faculty of education, University of Calicut, Kerala, and Prof. Reva Parimoo (Raina), Ex-Dean Faculty of Education, Rishihood University, Sonipat, Haryana.

Prof. K. Abdul Gafoor, Faculty of Education, University of Calicut, Kerala spoke on the purpose of lesson planning with a focus on “designing for learning.” He emphasized the importance of alignment between teaching and evaluation and explained the three levels of thinking about teaching based on John Biggs’ model.

Prof. Reva Parimoo (Raina), Ex-Dean, Faculty of Education, Rishihood University, Sonipat, Haryana stated that “a lesson plan is not just a format to fill in but a path to meaningful learning.” She stressed on designing meaningful learning experiences beyond traditional methods. She introduced a practical framework for the teaching-learning process called the 5Ds: Dream, Design, Deliver, Discover, and Develop. She also engaged students in a discussion on the insightful aspects of AI in education.

Dr. Saliha Khatoon, Assistant Professor, Faculty of education, KBN University concluded the first day programme with vote of thanks.

DAY 2:

The Faculty of Education, KBN University, Kalaburagi organized a Two-Day Professional Orientation Programme on “Lesson Planning cum Internship”.

The programme commenced with Tilawat-e-Kalam by Ms. Azra Begum of II semester, followed by its translation by Ms. Nashra Tabassum. The event was hosted by Syeda Ayesha Muskan of IV semester and Syeda Aisha Roohi of II semester, who introduced the proceedings of the day. As a symbol of growth, prosperity and enlightenment, the dignitaries inaugurated the two-day programme by watering a plant. Bouquets were presented to the dignitaries by Dr. Sharanbasappa and Mr. Mahiboob C. as a mark of respect and gratitude.

To acquaint the trainees about the designing of a good lesson plan with up-to-date skills, the second day began with great enthusiasm .Dr. K. Thiyagu, Associate Professor, School of Education, Central University of Karnataka presented his thoughts and ideas The Keynote address by Dr. K. Thiyagu, Associate Professor, CUK was dynamic and interactive. He urged student-teachers to adopt creativity in lesson planning and to leverage social media and reel culture for better engagement. Using Gail Godwin’s ideas and theatre techniques, and relating teaching steps to tea preparation, he made learning both practical and inspiring.

Afternoon session

Afternoon session was engaged by the Faculty members, various topics like, i) Internship: Concept and Contours, by Dr.Saleha Khatoon .ii) Steps of Lesson Planning in Mathematics,by Mr.Mahiboob ,C.K. iii) Importance of Lesson Planning in English, by Dr.Kudrathunissa Sheikh iv) Steps of Lesson Planning in Social Studies, Fatima Begum v) Designing of a Good Lesson Plan in Physical Science,Razia Begum vi) Essentials of Lesson Planning in Urdu, Farida Ather and vii) Steps of Lesson Planning in Kannada, Dr. Sharanbassappa.W. Dean, Faculty of Education gave concluding remarks. He advised students /trainees to work for better tomorrow. He also advised the learners to develop seriousness in their studies.

On the whole, the sessions were very helpful, inspiring and enriching for all participants.
