The Faculty of Science, Khaja Bandanawaz University, successfully organized the Student Induction Programme (SIP) 2025 from 23rd to 30th October 2025 to welcome the new batch of undergraduate students and introduce them to the values, vision, and academic culture of KBNU.
The inaugural session commenced with the Welcome Address and Introduction of Faculty and Staff, followed by an inspiring opening talk on “Know Your University” by Dr. Athiya Sultana, Head, Department of English. In her session, she introduced students to KBNU’s vision, mission, heritage, and academic achievements, helping them understand the institution’s ethos and goals.
A Campus Tour conducted by Ms. Qudsiya and Mr. Mudabbir gave students an overview of the university’s departments, research centers, and facilities. The following sessions provided a holistic blend of intellectual and interactive learning. Dr. M.A. Mujeeb (Department of Biotechnology) delivered a talk on Life Skills and Goal Setting, Dr. Nasir (Faculty of Engineering & Technology) spoke on The Role of Students in University Life, and Dr. Athar Moizuddin (Department of Urdu) elaborated on Facilities at KBNU.
Interactive sessions like the Open Mic encouraged creativity and confidence among students, while lively activities such as Musical Chairs (conducted by Maseera, Mehrunnisa, and Atoofa), Chinese Whisper (by Ms. Qudsiya), and Bingo (by Mr. Mudabbir) brought fun and teamwork to the programme. Mrs. Athiya Sultana actively guided several interactive components of the week, ensuring participation and enthusiasm.
Further sessions included Time Management by Dr. Atungbou (Department of Sociology) and Communication Skills by Ms. Zainab (Department of English). Ms. Ashwathy (Counsellor) led a session on Emotional Intelligence and Stress Management, followed by Dr. Heena Mubeen, who introduced SWAYAM and MOOCs. Dr. Sameena Sindagikar (Department of Sociology) sensitized students about the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), emphasizing student welfare and inclusivity.
The creative spirit continued with Cooking Without Fire, Breaking the Ice, and One-Act Play sessions organized under the guidance of Dr. Sameena, Dr. Jawed Akhter, Dr. Athar Moizuddin, Ms. Qudsiya, and Dr. Athiya Sultana, making the programme both memorable and meaningful.
The Valedictory Session was graced by Dr. Abdul Baseer, Controller of Examinations, who addressed the students on examination procedures, evaluation systems, and preparation strategies. His talk provided clarity and motivation for academic success. Prof. Nishat Arif Hussaini, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Languages and Law, congratulated the new entrants and encouraged them to pursue knowledge with dedication, discipline, and humanity.
The Student Induction Programme 2025 stood as a testament to KBNU’s commitment to holistic education and student-centered learning. It created a nurturing environment where knowledge met creativity — truly embodying the university’s vision of “Education for Humanity.”
