Poster Competition for World Population Day 2026

Department of Community Medicine, FOMS, KBN University organizedPoster Competition on the occasion of World Population Day – 2026 on 11th July 2026 for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of all the faculties of the KBN University.

The competition was based on the World Population Day 2026 theme:"Realizing the hopes and aspirations of young people – today and for the future." This global theme emphasizes supporting young people in achieving their educational, health, career, and life aspirations while ensuring equitable access to healthcare, reproductive rights and opportunities for sustainable development.

More than 150 UG and PG students from different faculties of the KBN University actively participated in the competition. The participants displayed exceptional creativity and innovation by presenting posters on diverse themes.

Posters were evaluated by a panel of judges comprising of Dr. Pratima Sambrani, Professor, Department of Pathology and Dr. Sameena Sindagikar, Assistant Professor, Department of sociology. Evaluation was based on originality, relevance to the theme, scientific accuracy, creativity, clarity of message, artistic presentation and overall impact.

Valedictory Session

The valedictory session marked the formal conclusion of the event. The session began with introduction and felicitation of the dignitaries, followed by a Qirat (recitation of Quranic verses), setting a solemn and respectful tone for the closing ceremony.

Both the judges were felicitated for their valuable time, expertise and impartial evaluation of the posters.Results of the poster competition were then announced. The winning team and the runner-up teams were awarded certificates and cash prizes.

Dr. M A Baseer, Director, IQAC & i/c Controller of Examination, KBNU and Dr. Guruprasad K Y, Dean, FOMS - KBNU) addressed the gathering. They appreciated the initiative of the Department of Community Medicine in organizing the World Population Day–2026 Poster Competition and commended the enthusiastic participation of students.

The dignitaries also appreciated the quality and originality of the posters, noting that such academic and creative activities enhance students' communication skills, critical thinking, and social responsibility. They congratulated the winners and all the participants and motivated them to continue contributing towards public health initiatives with dedication and compassion.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers.Dr. Shahnaz Shaheen (Professor and Head) was the organizing Chairperson, Dr. M A Fahim (Professor) and Dr. Tajmul Usman (Associate Professor) were the organizing secretaries of the event.
