KBNU Welcomes New Doctoral Scholars at the Ph.D. Orientation Programme 2025
Khaja Bandanawaz University (KBNU) hosted its Ph.D. Orientation Programme for the 2025 cohort on October 8 at Lecture Hall No. 4, Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology. The event was presided over by Prof. Syed Ashfaq Ahmed, Dean (Research) and Pro-Vice Chancellor, KBNU, and graced by Dr. Sujata V. Mallapur, Dean (Research), Department of AI and Machine Learning, Sharanbasva University, as the Chief Guest.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. M.A. Baseer, Director, IQAC, setting a tone of academic rigor and support. Dr. Zama Moosvi, Dean, Academics, presented an overview of the university, outlining the research ecosystem and opportunities available to scholars. Senior leadership, deans, and heads of various departments marked their presence, underscoring KBNU’s collective commitment to fostering research excellence.
Dr. Mallapur delivered an inspiring keynote, highlighting the integration of AI tools to enhance research productivity and innovation. The event featured two key lecture sessions: Prof. Romate John discussed research impact metrics such as the H-index and citations, while Prof. Syed Ashfaq Ahmed provided a detailed overview of the Ph.D. programme structure, including credit requirements, coursework, pilot projects, and mandatory progress reports.
The orientation equipped over 50 new research scholars with essential information on policies, ethical guidelines, and library resources, while offering a platform to interact with the university’s research leadership and peers. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Asma Parveen, Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, FoET, KBNU.
