The Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Khaja Bandanawaz University, organized a Parents–Teachers Meet (PTM) for the postgraduate students of M.Sc. I and III Semester on 30 November 2025. The meeting was held in two dedicated sessions to ensure focused interaction — the I Semester session commenced at 10:30 AM, followed by the III Semester session at 12:00 PM. This structured approach enabled each group of parents to engage in meaningful dialogue with the faculty regarding the academic progress and professional development of their wards.

The PTM was presided over by Prof. Syed Ashfaq Ahmed, Dean, Faculty of Science, who addressed the gathering and encouraged parents to motivate students toward active engagement in academics, internships, and professional skill-building. He emphasized the importance of seeking internship opportunities outside Gulbarga to broaden academic exposure and deepen subject understanding. Prof. Ahmed also welcomed suggestions and assured the parents of the university’s commitment to academic excellence and student welfare.

Faculty members briefed the parents on essential academic parameters, including attendance requirements, programme structure, credit system, and evaluation patterns. The mandatory 75% attendance rule for eligibility in end-semester examinations was strongly reiterated. Parents of I Semester students were oriented about the MSc curriculum, while parents of III Semester students were sensitized to upcoming components such as internship and project work, enabling them to support their wards in planning ahead. Faculty also discussed the significance of time management, regularity, and academic discipline.

To ensure participatory improvement, structured feedback forms were distributed at the beginning of the sessions. Parents provided inputs on communication clarity, academic processes, and support services. The high response rate reflected enthusiastic participation, reinforcing the collaborative spirit between the department and the parent community. Feedback will be systematically reviewed and integrated into department-level improvements.

With over 40 parents in attendance, the PTM served as a constructive platform for transparent dialogue and collective guidance. The discussions on attendance, internship preparation, and project expectations helped align institutional efforts with parental support, strengthening the mentor–mentee ecosystem within the department. The meet concluded on a positive note, reaffirming KBNU’s dedication to nurturing academic excellence and fostering holistic student development.
