NEO-CRINE 2025

NEO-CRINE 2025, a half-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme organized by the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medical Sciences at Khaja Bandanawaz University, was conducted on 19th November 2025 in the Lecture Hall on the 3rd floor of KBNTGH as part of World Newborn Week. The event aimed to enhance clinical expertise in identifying and managing neonatal endocrine disorders and to update clinicians on best practices in newborn screening. The event was presided over by Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Syed Ashfaq Ahmed, with leadership addresses from Dr. P. S. Shankar (Senior CEO, KBNU-FOMS)Dr. Mohammed Abdul Baseer (Director IQAC & Controller of Examinations) and Dr. Siddaling Chengty (Medical Superintendent).


The academic sessions included presentations by faculty and visiting specialists. Consultant Endocrinologist Dr. Pavithra Nagaraj spoke on neonatal hypothyroidism and screening algorithms, while Dr. Kumar Angadi elaborated on the latest screening modalities and operational challenges. Senior pediatric faculty including Dr. Siddaling Chengty  and Dr. Charanraj Honnalli and delivered sessions on neonatal hypoglycemia and hypocalcaemia, integrating updated clinical protocols with case-based discussions. Each talk was followed by an interactive Q&A, enabling participants to clarify diagnostic approaches, management pathways, and system-level workflow considerations.


The programme saw active participation of around 50 postgraduate trainees, interns, and faculty members, fostering a collaborative atmosphere focused on improving early detection and intervention strategies. The deliberations reinforced the need for standardized screening practices and multidisciplinary coordination to strengthen neonatal outcomes across KBNU-affiliated institutions.


NEO-CRINE 2025 concluded with a strong reaffirmation of  KBNU’s commitment to evidence-based neonatal care, continuous clinical learning, and improved health outcomes for newborns — in alignment with the university’s mission and vision.
