National Prize at the Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI), New Delhi

The Faculty of Medical Sciences, Khaja Bandanawaz University (KBNU), Kalaburagi, has added yet another feather to its cap by winning the National Prize at the Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI), New Delhi, under the category "Leadership Excellence in Patient-Centered Service Quality."


This recognition was conferred upon KBNU for its pioneering initiative in starting a Fellowship Programme in Geriatric Medicine, which has been running successfully for the past five years. Through this programme, nearly 500 doctors from across the country have been trained, significantly contributing to the advancement of geriatric care and patient-centered healthcare services.


The award is particularly significant, as nearly 500 hospitals from across India — including renowned private and corporate institutions such as Fortis Max, Delhi; Manipal Hospitals, Bengaluru; Care Hospitals, Hyderabad; and Caritas Hospital, Kerala — participated in various categories of the competition. KBNU’s distinction in this elite group underscores its leadership in medical education and healthcare service innovation.


On behalf of the Dean, Faculty of Medical Sciences, the award was received by Dr. Mohammad Moinuddin, Dr. Ravindra Devani, Dr. Anup Desai, and Dr. Basvant Patil.


The prestigious award ceremony was graced by His Excellency, the Governor of Telangana, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, who served as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by distinguished dignitaries including Dr. M. I. Sahadulla, National President of AHPI, and Dr. Giridhar J. Gyani, Director General of AHPI.


This national recognition not only celebrates KBNU’s achievements in medical education but also reinforces its commitment to excellence, innovation, and service to humanity.
