National Library Week 2025

Central Library and Faculty of Commerce and Management, KBN University successfully organized National Library Week & the Faculty of Commerce and Management’s Second Management Fest 2025 from 14th to 20th November 2025, a week-long academic celebration aimed at enriching reading habits, strengthening digital literacy, and promoting holistic learning. A total of 186 students registered from various faculties, demonstrating a strong culture of intellectual engagement across the university.
The inaugural ceremony on 14th November 2025 was held at the Central Library and graced by Dr. P. S. Kattimani, University Librarian, Central University of Karnataka, as the Chief Guest. In his insightful address, he emphasized the transformative role of libraries in the digital era, highlighting the shift from traditional book-based services to integrated knowledge hubs offering digital resources, online databases, and research support systems.
During his presidential remarks, Professor Syed Ashfaq Ahmed, Pro Vice Chancellor of KBN University, encouraged students to make effective use of library resources to enhance their academic growth. The ceremony was also attended by Professor Nishat Arif Hussani, Dean of Arts, Language, Law and Social Sciences; Dr. Verdhmane, In-charge Dean of FOMS; Prof. Subhash, Dean of FOET; Prof. Iqbal M., Dean of FOEd., and other senior faculty members who collectively supported the initiative with their presence.
Throughout the week, a series of academic and co-curricular activities were conducted. The Library Treasure Hunt held on 15th November encouraged students to explore catalogues, reference sections, and DELNET resources in both online and offline modes. The Essay Writing Competition and Quiz Competition provided platforms for students to demonstrate their critical thinking, writing skills, and subject knowledge. The DELNET Awareness Assessment further strengthened familiarity with digital databases and remote-access learning tools—essential for modern higher education.
The Valedictory & Prize Distribution Ceremony, held on 20th November 2025, was chaired by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Professor. Ali Raza Moosvi, who congratulated all winners and appreciated the coordinated efforts of the Central Library and the Faculty of Commerce & Management. Professor Syed Ashfaq Ahmed, Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor, extended warm words of encouragement and offered his best compliments to the prize winners. Dr. Zama Moosvi, Dean Academic, Dr. Guruprasad K. Y., Dean of FOMS, also addressed the gathering with motivating remarks and congratulated the achievers. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Subhash K., Dean FOET; Dr. Siddesh S., HOD of Microbiology, and other senior faculty members, adding further academic dignity to the occasion.
The week-long celebrations concluded with renewed enthusiasm for reading, research, and digital exploration, aligning strongly with KBN University’s mission of fostering academic excellence and holistic student development.
