Introduction:
We had the opportunity to attend a workshop on Universal Human Values organized by PDA College of Engineering from 24/04/2025 to 26/04/2025. The aim of the workshop was to sensitize participants towards essential human values, promote self-reflection, and encourage a holistic understanding of the self, society, and nature.
Objectives of the Workshop:
To develop clarity on human purpose and values.
To enhance ethical competence among participants.
To explore harmony at the level of self, family, society, and nature.
To promote a value-based living approach.
Key Learnings:
1. Self-Exploration:The workshop emphasized self-reflection as a method to understand values. We engaged in introspective exercises to evaluate our thoughts, beliefs, and actions.
2. Understanding Human Aspirations:Discussions focused on the difference between temporary happiness and continuous happiness, and how values play a crucial role in achieving long-term well-being.
3. Harmony in Relationships:Sessions covered trust, respect, and responsibility in human relationships, emphasizing mutual fulfillment.
4. Harmony with Nature:We explored the interdependence between humans and nature, and the importance of co-existence.
5. Holistic Human Education:The importance of integrating universal human values into education was highlighted, aiming for character building alongside skill development.
Impact:
Attending the workshop was a transformative experience. It gave us a fresh perspective on how to lead a meaningful and responsible life. We became more aware of our behavior and its impact on others and the environment. It has motivated us to strive for continuous self-improvement and to nurture positive relationships.
Conclusion:
The Universal Human Values workshop was a valuable learning experience. It helped us realize the significance of internal values in personal and professional life. We are committed to applying these principles in everyday situations and sharing this knowledge with others.
