INTERNATIONAL INTEGRATED CME (IICME 2026)

THEME: METABOLIC HEALTH ACROSS THE LIFESPAN: TACKLING THE NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASES EPIDEMIC

 

INTERNATIONAL INTEGRATED CME (IICME 2026) (HYBRID MODE) was organized jointly by the Department of Biochemistry & Department of Community Medicine, Faculty of Medical Sciences, KBN University, on 13th August 2026 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

 

The CME witnessed enthusiastic participation of over 450 delegates which includes the Faculty members, PHD Scholars, Interns, Postgraduate students, and Undergraduate students from of KBN University as well as from various other Institutions both in and out of Karnataka making it a vibrant platform for learning, interaction, and professional networking.

 

The scientific programme commenced with Dr. Anant Arunrao Talalkar, Professor, MIMSR Medical College, Latur, who delivered an enlightening lecture on “Non-Communicable Diseases Across the Life Course.” The session was ably chaired by Dr. Ibrahim Siddiqui and Dr. Mubeen Hussain.

 

This was followed by Dr. Siraj Ahmed Khan, Additional Professor, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad, who spoke on “Metabolic Syndrome: The Biochemical Link to NCDs,” with Dr. Navin S. and Dr. Kapil Dev serving as chairpersons.

 

One of the highlights of the morning was the Oral and Poster Presentation Session, where about 18 scientific papers were presented by enthusiastic researchers and postgraduate students.

 

The inaugural ceremony added immense dignity to the programme with the release of the IICME’s first Souvenir of faculty of Medical Sciences KBN University, followed by inspiring addresses from our esteemed dignitaries, setting the tone for a meaningful academic gathering.

 

Inaugural ceremony commenced with a warm welcome speech by Dr. Saba Nazneen Khan, prof & Head, Dept of Biochemistry followed by felicitation of dignitaries.

Felicitation was followed by release of first faculty of Medical Sciences, KBN university souvenir for IICME 2026 by the dignitaries followed by addressing the gathering by our esteemed guests. The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Shahnaz Shaheen, Prof and head dept of Community Medicine.

 

Following the inaugural session, Dr. Mohammed K. Suhail from King Salman Specialized Hospital, Saudi Arabia, delivered an excellent lecture on “Hunger to Health: Public Health Solutions for Micronutrient Deficiency in the Community,” chaired by Dr. Shoeb Aslam and Dr. Poonam Singhade.

 

The next scientific session progressed with 16 oral & 19 Poster Presentations, showcasing the research talent and innovative work of young investigators. The interactive discussions between presenters, judges, and delegates made this session highly engaging and academically rewarding.

 

The afternoon scientific sessions continued with Dr. Siva Prabodh, who spoke on “From Prediabetes to Diabetes: Early Biochemical Changes,” chaired by Dr. Vinod Wali and Dr. Pampa Reddy.

 

This was followed by Dr. Waseem Faraaz Ansari, who presented “Emerging Technologies and Innovations in NCD Prevention,” under the chairmanship of Dr. Jibran and Dr. Ramesh.

 

Our final scientific session was delivered online by Dr. Jaiprakash Mohanraj from IMU, Malaysia, on “Unlocking the Power of Striatin: A Multifunctional Protein in Cardiovascular Health and Cancer Progression,” chaired by Dr. Bilal Mir Ahmed and Dr. Manjushree.

 

Throughout the day, every lecture was followed by lively discussions and interactive question-and-answer sessions, reflecting the enthusiasm of our delegates and the commitment of our speakers to sharing knowledge. This CME has not only enhanced our understanding of metabolic health and non communicable diseases but has also strengthened professional collaborations and inspired future research initiatives.

 

The final session included valedictory & prize distribution ceremony. To commence with the valedictory ceremony, Dr Hafsa was invited to deliver a welcome speech. Followed by felicitation of dignitaries. Dr Mohammed Moinuddin, Prof Emeritus, Dept of general Surgery was felicitated by Dr Abdul Baseer IQAC Director, COE(i/c) & deputy controller of examinations, KBN University. Followed by addressing the gathering by Dr. Mohammed Moinuddin, Prof Emeritus, Dept of general Surgery. This session was followed by prize distribution to the best oral presentation and best poster presentation.Valedictory ceremony concluded by a vote of thanks from Dr. MA Fahim, asst prof, Dept of Community Medicine.

 

Conclusion

The international integrated CME (IICME 2026) was successfully conducted through the joint efforts of the Department of Community Medicine & Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medical Sciences, KBN University.

 

The programme effectively combined health education, research activity, awareness of different biochemical parameters, AI in health for improvement of our knowledge.
