Inter College Quiz Competition in Association with IAMM-KC

The quiz competition was organized by the Department of Microbiology KBNU-FOMS on 27/03/26 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in Lecture Hall-1 for Phase-II MBBS students throughout Karnataka, with the aim of fostering knowledge and critical thinking among students. Theme of the competition was “Sample Collection and Hospital Infection Control”.

Following are the ten teams from different medical colleges who participated in the quiz:

Organizing chairman was Dr.S.B.Siddesh, Professor& HOD, Dept of Microbiology, FOMS,KBNU. Organizing Secretary was  Dr. Bilal Ahmad Mir, Professor, Dept of Microbiology, FOMS,KBNU. Joint Organizing Secretary was Dr Arshiya Tazeen , Associate Professor, Department of Microbiology, FOMS, KBNU

Dr. Siddesh B Sirwar, Professor &HOD, Department of Microbiology, FOMS, KBNU welcomed the chief guestDr. Nawaz Umar, Principal YIMS, Yadgiri& President of IAMM-KC & all the dignitaries.He addressed the gathering with his inspirational words.

Dr Arshiya Tazeen , felicitated Dr. Zama Moosvi, Dr. Bilal Ahmad Mir felicitated Dr. M A Baseer, Dr. Siddesh B Sirwar felicitated Dr. Guruprasad K.Y , Dr. Bilal Ahmad Mir felicitated Dr. Siddesh B Sirwar . Dr Nawaz Umar was felicitated by Dr. Zama Moosviand Dr Guruprasad

Dean FOMS, Dr Guruprasad congratulated the department of microbiology for conducting the quiz. He welcomed whole heartedly all the participating students and faculty from various colleges.

Dean Academics, Dr Zama Moosvi appreciated the efforts by department of microbiology for taking initiative in conducting the inter college quiz. She also congratulated all the participating students and wished them luck for the quiz. She encouraged the faculty of department of microbiology for conducting many more events in future

Chief Guest  Dr Nawaz Umar, IAMM president expressed her gratitude for conducting inter college quiz in association with IAMM KC. She appreciated the efforts of department of microbiology KBNU FOMS for conducting the quiz to increase awareness about sample collection and HIC among students. Dr. M A Baseer, Incharge Controller of Examinations, Director IQAC  KBNU was present at the occasion.

Later, Quiz was conducted in 6 rounds of 50 points each with ten groupsby Dr Syeda Firdaus Nusheen and Dr Haafiza Begum 

Winners :

1^stPrize : Team C2 from MRMC, Kalaburagi : 350 Points : Rs. 8000/- CASH PRIZE

2^ndPrize : Team E2 fromYIMS, Yadgiri. : 300 Points : Rs. 5000/- CASH PRIZE

3^rd Prize : Team D1 from KBNU-FOMS, Kalaburagi :275 Points : Rs. 2000/- CASH PRIZE

Winners were awarded with cash prize and certificates by Dr. Nawaz ma’am &Dr S.B.Siddesh. All the participants were given certificates.

The event was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr Arshiya Tazeen. The competition successfully achieved its objective of encouraging intellectual curiosity and teamwork. The department extends gratitude to all contributors.
