15th September 2026: A health talk on "Renal Calculi: Prevention, Diagnosis & Treatment" was delivered by Dr. Ankith and Dr. Abhishek, who spoke on the causes and risk factors of urinary stone disease, measures for prevention, and the available treatment options, and addressed queries raised by patients and attendants.
16th September 2026: A session on "Diabetic Foot: Prevention, Diagnosis & Treatment" was conducted by Dr. Aishwarya and Dr. Chandbibi, who highlighted the importance of foot care in diabetic patients, early warning signs of diabetic foot complications, and preventive practices to avoid limb-threatening infections and ulcers.
17th September 2026: A talk on "Dog Bite: Prevention & Treatment" was delivered by Dr. Amina and Dr. Gautami, covering first-aid measures, the importance of timely wound care and anti-rabies vaccination, and preventive precautions against animal bites, in the presence of the Chief Guest Dr. P. S. Shankar.
During each session, the presenting interns and students set aside time at the end of the talk to interact directly with the patients and their attendants, encouraging them to freely raise questions and share concerns. Several common misconceptions were addressed in the process — such as the belief that renal calculi are caused solely by hard water intake, that diabetic foot wounds do not need medical attention unless they turn severe, and that vaccination is unnecessary after a bite from a seemingly healthy-looking dog. These doubts were clarified with simple, scientifically accurate explanations delivered in the patients' own language (Kannada and Hindi), ensuring the information was easily understood. The interactive format left patients and their attendants with a clearer understanding of prevention, early warning signs, and the importance of timely treatment, and was well received as a valuable extension of the day's academic session.
