Guest Lecture on “Skill development in students : a path to confidence and competence” was organized by Dept of Microbiology, Faculty of Medical Sciences KBN University in Anatomy Lecture Hall - 1 on 13/09/24 at 3 pm to 5 pm. More than 300 students and faculty registered for the event
The event was hosted by Dr Syeda Firdaus Nusheen, 2nd year PG student and Dr Masrath Jahan, 1st year PG student from Dept of Microbiology, KBNU - FOMS. Program started with Qirat by Nabil, MBBS Phase III part I student . This was followed by Welcome Speech for dignitaries and invitees by Dr Arshiya Tazeen, Assistant Professor, Dept of Microbiology, KBNU - FOMS. Dr Shilpa Pradhan, Associate Professor, Dept of Microbiology, KBNU - FOMS, introduced and felicitated the speaker for the event Dr M.V.Raghavendra Rao
This was followed by lecture by the eminent speaker Dr M.V.Raghavendra Rao; Professor of Microbiology, World academy of Medical Sciences Netherlands (Europe). It was an interactive discussion on essential skills for success which included self assessment exercises to identify strengths and areas of improvement, practical tips and best practices for effective communication, leadership, time management and adaptability. Participants gained a clear understanding of essential skills for personal and professional growth. Sir also shared the importance of network with peers and established connections for future collaboration and support. Sir also shared his valuable life experiences with the audience and discussed the importance of Research in development of academics in the university
This was followed by the Valedictory function.

Dr S.B.Siddesh was felicitated and honored by all the HOD’s of FOMS - KBNU as he was being awarded with IMA Karnataka state branch Teachers day Award in recognition of his excellent academic performance and yeoman services as a teacher in building medical pupils to learn and develop their knowledge, capabilities, values and attitudes
Dr S.B.Siddesh addressed the gathering. He thanked the speaker for delivering excellent lecture and encourage the students to improve their academics
Dr Rajshree Paladi Dean research KBNU addressed the gathering. She encouraged the faculty and students to participate in research and thanked the speaker for sharing his insights
The program ended with vote of thanks by Dr Bilal Ahmad Mir, Prof and i/c HOD, Dept of Microbiology, KBNU - FOMS
