Guest Lecture on “Decoding Thyroid Pathology”

The department of Pathology, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Khaja Bandanawaz University, Kalaburagi, organized a Guest Lecture on “Decoding Thyroid Pathology” in Forensic Lecture Hall on 24/04/2026 from 11:00 AM to 1 PM.

The event was hosted by Dr. Mahek, junior resident, Dept. of Pathology, KBNU – FOMS. This was followed by Welcome Speech for dignitaries and invitees by Dr. Geetanjali, Associate Professor, Dept. of Pathology, KBNU - FOMS.

Dr Sumaiyya Firdous, introduced the speaker for the event, Dr. Kajal B.Punyashetty.

This was followed by lecture by the eminent speaker Dr. Kajal B.Punyashetty. It was an interactive discussion on Thyroid lesions. Mam also shared her valuable life experiences with the audience and discussed the importance of thyroid cytology in the diagnosis of thyroid tumors.

Guest lecture was followed by Qirat.

Dr. Md. Ibrahim Siddiqui, Professor and Head, Dept. of Pathology, KBNU – FOMS, welcomed the speaker and the chief guests.

This was followed by the felicitation of the guest speaker by Dr. Zeenath Begum & Dr.Mandakini B.Tengli. The chief guests were also felicitated.

The event further proceeded with the Presidential Address by the respected Chief Guest, Hon’ble Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Syed Ashfaq Ahmed. KBN University, Dr. Zama Moosvi, Dean – Academics, KBN University and Dr. Guruprasad K.Y, Dean, FOMS, KBN University.

The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Dr. Safura Batul, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, participants, and organizers for making the event successful. This was followed by high tea. 

The event successfully created awareness among students about the Bethesda system of reporting thyroid cytology.
