The Department of Student Welfare at Khaja Bandanawaz University successfully organized the Group Counseling for Personal Development Programme on 2nd August 2025 at the university campus. The event was graced by Prof. Romate John, Department of Psychology, Central University of Karnataka, as the Chief Guest.
The programme was designed to provide students with essential skills for personal growth, focusing on areas such as stress management, time management, exam stress handling, and personality development. To achieve this, 48 students and 2 faculty members from the Department of Psychology, Central University of Karnataka, facilitated interactive sessions for 210 KBNU students drawn from the Faculties of Engineering, Science, Education, Commerce, and Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences.
The sessions combined group activities, team dynamics exercises, and open discussions, enabling students to share their challenges and collectively find constructive solutions. Participants reported that the experience enhanced their ability to cope with academic pressure, strengthened their communication and teamwork skills, and gave them a deeper sense of self-awareness.
The programme was coordinated by Ms. Aswathy (Student Welfare Counselor, KBNU), Ms. Rabia (Assistant Professor, Psychology, KBNU), and Ms. Ardra Reghu (Guest Faculty, Psychology, KBNU), who ensured smooth facilitation and engaging interactions.
Overall, the Group Counseling Programme was a transformative experience that not only promoted emotional resilience but also aligned with KBN University’s mission of nurturing well-rounded individuals equipped to meet academic and life challenges.
