Doctors’ Day was celebrated at Khaja Bandanawaz University’s Faculty of Medical Sciences on 1st July 2025 in the Hospital Lecture Hall, to honor the selfless contributions and noble commitment of medical professionals. The date commemorates the birth and death anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a beacon of Indian medical excellence.

The celebration was graced by dignitaries including Dr. Guruprasad K.Y. (Dean, FOMG–KBNU), Dr. Siddaling Chengty, and Dr. P. S. Shankar (CEO-MS, FOMS–KBNU and Professor Emeritus). The program began with a warm welcome by Dr. Chandraka, Professor and Head of the Department of General Medicine.

Dr. P. S. Shankar delivered an inspiring keynote, reflecting on the legacy of Dr. B. C. Roy and the deeper values of the medical profession. Dr. Guruprasad K.Y. followed with the presidential address, emphasizing the ideals of service, responsibility, and compassion that define a true doctor.

As part of the celebrations, two senior faculty members—Dr. Prathima Sambanni, Professor, Department of Pathology, and Dr. Satish Chandra Paloti, Professor, Department of General Medicine—were felicitated for their remarkable commitment to the field.

An engaging quiz on doctors’ history was conducted by Dr. P. S. Shankar, bringing an interactive close to the event. HODs, faculty, and students participated with enthusiasm, making the celebration both meaningful and memorable.

This observance stood as a testimony to KBNU’s commitment to recognizing excellence in healthcare and nurturing a spirit of gratitude and learning.

A heartwarming moment came when students from Hussain Public School visited the University campus to honour our doctors. They brought along colourful handmade posters and greeting cards, which they personally presented to faculty members—adding a vibrant and emotional touch to the day.
