Day 2 - National Conference on “Emerging Horizons in Biological Sciences”

Following a successful first day, 25th March 2026 the second day of the conference unfolded with great enthusiasm, featuring a series of informative sessions, expert talks, and active participation from researchers and students.


Prof. Vijaykumar Malashetty, Former Acting Vice-Chancellor of Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Ballari, and Professor & Head, Department of Zoology, Gulbarga University, Kalaburagi, delivered the Third Invited Talk. His lecture on “Advances in Agricultural, Animal and Aquatic Biological Sciences” highlighted microplastics as an emerging threat causing cellular damage in living organisms.


The Fourth Invited Talk was delivered by Dr. Anil Kumar S. Katti, Department of Bioinformatics, Walchand Centre for Biotechnology, Solapur, on “Frontiers in Molecular Biology, Genetics and Computational Life.” He discussed the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in life sciences, particularly in research and healthcare.


The Fifth Invited Talk was delivered by Dr. Parveen Jahan, Adjunct Professor, Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research (SDUAHER), Kolar, Karnataka, on “Biological Sciences Opening New Avenues for Scientific Discovery.” She presented insights into the immune complexity associated with recurrent pregnancy loss.


Across both days, the conference showcased a vibrant research environment. There were 55 Oral Presentations and 30 Poster Presentations.


These presentations covered diverse thematic areas and were rigorously evaluated by expert panels and awarded by the esteemed dignitaries in the valedictory function. 


The conference successfully achieved its objectives by Providing a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue and knowledge exchange, Encouraging young researchers and students to present innovative research, Promoting academic collaboration and networking, Highlighting the importance of sustainable development and ecological resilience, Showcasing the role of modern technologies and AI in biological sciences.

The event stands as a significant academic milestone for the Department of Zoology, reinforcing its commitment to excellence in research and education.
