Celebration of the 135th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar

The Faculty of Languages, Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Law, Khaja Bandanawaz University, Kalaburagi, organized Ambedkar Jayanthi Celebration on 22nd April 2026 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution and a champion of social justice.
The program commenced with a warm welcome by the student anchor, Ms. Syeda Hufza Umama, who introduced the significance of the day and highlighted the contributions of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar towards equality, justice, and education. This was followed by the Welcome Address delivered by Dr. Atungbou, Coordinator of the Department of Sociology.
A solemn and respectful Floral Tribute Ceremony was conducted, where the Chief Guest and faculty members paid homage to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar by offering flowers to his portrait as a mark of respect and gratitude.
The program then moved into the Speech Session, where students Sheerin Ansari - Department of Hindi, Muskan Anjum - Department of Urdu, Bhagyashree - B.Ed, Amina Fatima - Faculty of Law and Amina Mehreen - Department of English presented their thoughts in multiple languages including Hindi, Urdu, Kannada, and English. The speakers reflected on the life, philosophy, and constitutional contributions of Dr. Ambedkar. A special emphasis was placed on his message “Educate, Agitate, Organize” and its relevance in today’s educational and social context.
Following the student presentations, faculty members Dr. Sanganagouda - Guest Faculty, Department of Kannada, Dr. Javed Akhtar - Assistant Professor, Department of Mass communication and Journalism, Dr. Ather Moizuddin - Assistant Professor, Department of Urdu
Mrs. Mahalaxmi - Faculty of Law and Dr. Namrata Raut - Media Coordinator delivered insightful speeches, sharing their perspectives on Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of an inclusive and equitable society. The speakers highlighted the importance of education as a tool for empowerment and social transformation.
The event further proceeded with the Presidential Address by the respected Chief Guest, Prof. Nishat Arif Hussaini, Dean, Faculty of Languages, Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences and Law, who inspired the audience with valuable insights on the continuing relevance of Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals in modern society.
The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Zaiba Samreen, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, participants, and organizers for making the event successful.
The event successfully created awareness among students about the values of equality, justice, and education, and encouraged them to follow the path shown by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. All teching faculty and students were present at the occasion.
