On June 12th, 2024, the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FOMS) at KBNU commenced a ten-day Yoga training program, marking the celebration of International Yoga Day. The programme, designed to promote the holistic benefits of Yoga, commenced with a series of insightful speeches and a comprehensive lecture on the origins and practice of this ancient discipline.
Dr. Swati Jangam, Professor of Physiology at FOMS, warmly welcomed the participants, setting the tone for a week of dedicated learning and practice. Dr. Siddesh Sirwar, Dean of FOMS, followed with an inspiring inaugural address, emphasizing the importance of integrating Yoga into modern life for both physical and mental well-being.
The first day's lecture was conducted by renowned Yoga instructor Mrs. Shraddha S. Hale. Through an engaging PowerPoint presentation, she delved into the rich history of Yoga, exploring its various forms and highlighting the profound benefits it offers practitioners.
The day concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Faisal Ahmed from the Department of Physiology, FOMS. His words expressed gratitude to all involved in the program's successful launch, and anticipation for the insightful sessions to come.
