As part of the Swatantra 79 celebrations and Anti-Ragging Week observance, Khaja Bandanawaz University organized an Anti-Ragging Walkathon and Oath Taking Ceremony on 14th August 2025. The event was held within the university campus, starting from Bibi Raza College and concluding near the Auditorium, with the objective of sensitizing students and faculty towards creating a ragging-free environment.
The walkathon was presided over by Prof. Iqbal Mattoo, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and Dr. Guruprasad K.Y, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Participants carried placards, posters, and banners, raising awareness about the detrimental effects of ragging and promoting the values of safety and mutual respect on campus.
Upon reaching the auditorium, Dr. Jibran Anwar, Nodal Officer of the Anti-Ragging Committee, administered the Anti-Ragging Oath to all participants, affirming KBNU’s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. The programme concluded with the recording of short video messages by the deans and faculty members, ensuring that the campaign’s message reached beyond the immediate audience.
The event drew the participation of 150 members of the KBNU community, including 112 students and 38 faculty members. Through their active involvement, students and faculty demonstrated the collective resolve of the university to uphold a campus environment that is safe, inclusive, and conducive to academic excellence.
