Anti-Ragging Day - 2025

KBN University observed National Anti-Ragging Day on 12th August 2025 with a meaningful programme at the Anatomy Lecture Hall, officially marking the commencement of Anti-Ragging Week 2025 (12th–18th August). The event was organized by the Anti-Ragging Committee in collaboration with the Media Coordination Cell.


The session began with a guest lecture by Dr. Supriya Yedve, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medical Sciences. She spoke on “Ragging and Mental Health”, emphasizing the psychological trauma, anxiety, and long-term emotional damage caused by ragging. Dr. Yedve also highlighted KBNU’s robust anti-ragging policies and 24x7 mechanisms that safeguard students and ensure immediate redressal of complaints.


The programme further featured the screening of a short anti-ragging documentary, sensitizing students to the consequences of ragging and reiterating the University’s zero tolerance approach. Miss Heena Jamadar, Media Coordinator, also presented a brief summary of the upcoming events planned as part of Anti-Ragging Week 2025.


The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Prof. Ali Raza Moosvi, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Syed Ashfaq Ahmed, Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor, Mir Vilayat Ali, Registrar, Dr. Abdul Baseer, Director IQAC, Dr. Guruprasad K.Y., Dean, Faculty of Medical Sciences, and Dr. Siddaling Chengty, Medical Superintendent, KBNTGH. They jointly inaugurated the week-long campaign and expressed their strong support towards creating a safe academic ecosystem.


In his address, Registrar Mir Vilayat Ali appreciated the University’s efficient implementation of the anti-ragging policy, while Dr. Guruprasad K.Y. highlighted the serious impact of ragging on students’ emotional wellbeing.


The programme drew 210 participants including 180 students and 30 faculty members. The dignitaries were felicitated, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Miss Heena Jamadar, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the esteemed guests, faculty, and students for their presence and support.


Through this initiative, KBNU once again reinforced its mission of fostering an environment of respect, dignity, and inclusivity where every student feels safe to pursue their academic journey without fear.
