The Department of Pediatrics at KBNU, under the leadership of Dr. Vinod Uplaonkar, hosted a comprehensive two-day Advanced Life Support (ALS) Provider Course designed to sharpen critical care capabilities among medical professionals. Held at the university’s Skill Lab on 28th & 29th June 2025, the course focused on equipping participants with the latest emergency response protocols for cardiac arrest, peri-arrest, and other life-threatening conditions.
The programme was honored by the presence of His Holiness Janab Syed Muhammad Ali Al-Hussaini Sahab, Chancellor of KBNU, along with Janab Dr. Syed Mustafa Al-Hussaini Sahab (Director – Campus), Prof. Ali Raza Moosvi (Vice Chancellor), Prof. Syed Ashfaq Ahmed (Pro Vice Chancellor), Dr. Guruprasad K Y (Dean, FOMS), Dr. Zama Moosvi (Dean, Academics), and Dr. Abdul Baseer (Director, IQAC).
Expert sessions were conducted by a panel of instructors including Dr. Raghavendra, Dr. Yalaguresh, Dr. Shrinivas Bacha, Dr. Kiran, Dr. Vinod, Dr. Ramesh, Dr. Pranam, and Dr. Prakash. Training modules covered key ALS components such as airway techniques, vascular access, rhythm disturbances, and safe use of defibrillators. Participants engaged in realistic, team-based simulations, practicing CPR, ECG interpretation, and advanced algorithm-based care.
A total of 40 participants (including 6 faculty members and 34 students) took part in the programme. Trainees assumed both team leader and team member roles in mock code scenarios, enhancing their clinical decision-making, leadership, and communication skills.
This hands-on initiative significantly bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, reinforcing KBNU’s commitment to excellence in emergency medical education.
