On 16th October 2025 the fifth day of the 3rd Annual Sports and Cultural Fest 2025 at Khaja Bandanawaz University was filled with enthusiasm, competitive spirit, and camaraderie as students and faculty came together for a thrilling day of cricket matches at the Sayyid Akbar Hussaini Turf Ground.
The day began with the students’ cricket league matches, featuring spirited teams from the Faculties of Arts, Languages, Humanities, Social Sciences and Law (FoALHSSL), Engineering and Technology (FoET), Management Studies (FoMS), Science (FoS), and Commerce and Management (FoCM). The ground resonated with loud cheers and excitement as students passionately supported their respective faculty teams. Each match reflected teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship, setting the tone for a vibrant and energetic day.
After a series of competitive games, the FoET team emerged as the champions of the students’ cricket league, displaying exceptional skill and coordination, while the FoCM team secured the runner-up position, showcasing a commendable performance throughout the tournament.
The energy continued in the afternoon with the KBN Faculty Friendly Cricket Match, a much-anticipated event that brought together teaching and non-teaching staff from various faculties. Teams representing FoALHSSL and Education, FoMS, FoS, and FoET participated with great enthusiasm. The match fostered a sense of community, teamwork, and friendly rivalry among the faculty members. After an engaging and entertaining contest, the FoMS faculty team claimed the winner’s trophy, while the FoALHSSL team finished as runners-up.
Throughout the day, the Turf Ground witnessed not only competitive play but also moments of unity and joy, as students and faculty shared the spirit of sportsmanship and celebrated their collective achievements.
The event successfully highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering holistic development, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy competition among both students and staff.
