Civil Engineering branch was started in the year 1980 with an intake of 60 students affiliated to VTU Belagavi. Presently the intake is 120 students. Apart from this Department offers Master’s in structural engineering with an intake of 18.  Civil engineering has its Research center from the year 2016. Both PG and Ph.D. programme are affiliated to VTU. The departmental has experienced faculty members who always encourage the students in research and development. The department has sophisticated laboratory with well-equipped modern equipment.

 

VGST Grants

Department has received VGST research grant for the Financial Year 2017-18, approved by the Government of Karnataka under following categories

1) Research Grant for scientist faculty of Rs 5 lakh/- for the work “Steel fibre reinforced self-compacting concrete for next decade”.

​

2) KFIST Level (1) Grant of Rs 20 lakh/- for the work  "Repair and seismic upgrading for condition based existing building "
