M.A. in Women's Studies

Programme Overview

MA in Women's Studies is a two years’ post graduate course. Aspiring candidates should complete their B.A. degree from recognized university under any Arts stream.

Women's Studies is an academic field that draws on feminist and interdisciplinary methods in order to place women's lives and experiences at the center of study, while examining social and cultural constructs of gender; systems of privilege and oppression; and the relationships between power and gender as  they intersect with other identities and social locations such as racesexual orientationsocio-economic class, and disability.

If students opt this course in Post Graduate (M.A.) level they will be much benefited because it equips them with the understanding and awareness of how gender impacts their daily lives. The course also helps students to learn to identify, analyze cultural practices and traditional notions that revolve around gender, sexuality, and sexual orientation, as well as understanding how gender is an influential factor in people's lives from a social, political, and economic dimensions.

Eligibility

Bachelor’s degree in any stream from any recognized university with minimum 50% marks in it.
