Programme Overview

A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is an undergraduate academic degree program designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become effective teachers. The program typically takes four years to complete and includes a combination of coursework, practical teaching experience, and professional development activities.

Students in a B.Ed. program study a range of subjects related to education, including pedagogy, curriculum development, educational psychology, classroom management, and assessment and evaluation. They also gain practical experience through classroom observation, student teaching, and other field experiences.

Upon completing a B.Ed. program, graduates are eligible to become licensed teachers in their respective jurisdictions. They may teach in primary, secondary, or post-secondary schools, depending on their area of specialization.

In addition to teaching, graduates with a B.Ed. degree may also pursue careers in educational administration, curriculum development, instructional design, and educational research.

Eligibility Criteria

The minimum qualification required for entry into B.Ed. course is Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) form a recognised board/university with at least 50% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme.
